Volunteer
Ambassador
Ambassadors will have a passion for our mission to give foster youth and adoptees people back their stories and will have personal experience in the foster and adoption world. Ambassadors will share their experience in a variety of ways, to raise awareness and educate the public about the power of story through video appearances, surveys, public speaking, tabling, workgroups and special events, based on comfort and availability.
Business Lawyer
Looking for an on-call lawyer with nonprofit experience. We would love to have a nonprofit-focused business lawyer to turn to with questions or the occasional document review.
Life History Champion
Create your OWN fundraising page for Power of Story, set a goal and then invite your friends, family and connections to help you reach it. Even if your goal is small, it helps get the word out, connect us to more folks, provides some much-needed support to young people and healthy competition.

Researcher
Because of the lack of focus on the importance of fosters and adoptees stories historically, we are piecing together data to understand the record of life histories and harness stories well. A volunteer researcher will help gather information using the internet as a primary source.
Designer
Visual design is key to sharing our message that young people’s stories are powerful. What we see is the first impression we make and engages potential partners and the general community on who we are and why what we do matters. Power of Story is looking for a designer for both ongoing and specific current projects.
Copy Editor
Our mission is compelling, but it also needs to sound right! Copyediting ensures grammar, syntax, and spelling are correct; the established style for Power of Story is followed; and our materials is suitable and understandable to teenagers and young adults, as well as grantmakers and contracting partners. We are looking for skilled copy editors who will whip out their red pen and edit our materials before they go out into the world.
Social Media Expert
The Social Media Expert will help POWER OF STORY be more visible and spread our message. The Social Media Expert will develop and implement a social media strategy to increase overall reach and brand awareness, through our Instagram presence and website presents, and help us grow on new platforms.
Fundraiser
We are looking for a relationship-focused fundraiser with previous experience who can help us network with individuals and organizations who care about the Power of Story, to grow and diversify our donor base. In time, we will also add fundraising events and will need different levels of assistance with all aspects of planning and execution, from events to email asks.
Board Member
As a board member, you are entrusted with the responsibility to see that donor funds are well spent, and to protect their best interests and the best interests of the organization. You will also work on the organization’s strategic direction, to grow and/or focus the vision of what they can do in the community to make a stronger impact.

No! We have many virtual options available, just be sure to mention where in the world you are when you apply, so we get you started in the right direction.
